It was an enormous privilege to attend the Microsoft DevDays 2005. Learning ASP.NET 2.0, Indigo, Enterprise Library, and Web Services ASMX 2.0, and the excellent keynote speech by Prashant Sridharan introducing the complete Visual Studio 2005 product suite, see Dennis' blog for details. Also, the accommodation was top notch.

The one thing that bugged me was the session on 'Enterprise Applications with Enterprise Library' was in fact not about either Enterprise Applications or Enterprise Library but about Avanade Connected Architectures for .NET (ACA.NET). Matt Joe kept on saying "How cool is this guys?" while the code monkey Dennis Mulder effectively killed all possible enthusiasm by saying "Geen rocket science, maar …". BTW. Matt, a native speaker of American English, kept pronouncing 'Application Blocks' as 'Application Blogs' and 'Cache' as 'Catch'. Very strange.

But maybe expectations were too high after Mr. Sridharan's talk. The three-beamer wide video projection he used was awesome. Good PA system by Hulskamp as well. Both systems made even the MS commercials look good! Shoot I must be drinking too much of the Kool-Aid.

*grin* ....

The 'Enterprise Applications with Enterprise Library' was indeed not very good. The only thing i learned there was not to use live code examples in a presentation when you are not sure about the code......lol
