WinFx Posters

I was very curious about WinFX and it just crossed my mind to make a few graphical applications with WinFX. At first I thought that WinFX was just a graphical API. But I was totally wrong when I saw a introduction video by Brad Adams at Channel 9 . After that I was amazed about the potential of this new Windows API. Think I'm gonna check out the WinFX Runtime Components jan 2006 CTP.

In the introduction video I saw the WinFX poster and after that I started to google for it.

Hi Chi Wai,

WinFX is the package that contains WPF, WCF and WF. I think you're referring to WPF, Windows Presentation Foundation.

This week someone said to me : "This WPF sucks! DirectX all the way for me! Those d*ckheads at Microsoft even implemented a lot of functions in WPF that were already implemented in DirectX!" Of course, because it's build on top of DirectX! :) Life can be so beautiful! Oh, I already blogged about that! :)

Chi Wai, you should better forget about those posters! They are terribly outdated because they are from before the so-called Longhorn reset at Microsoft.

Why don't you go to the DevDays? A good place to get informed on the current status of WinFX.

This morning I made myself a WPF app in which the buttons spin around for 360 degrees after they are clicked! Just wait for all those terrible designed WPF apps because developers think they suddenly have graphical design talent ;) Microsoft is making it way too easy for us to develop such applications with the new visual designers for WPF ;)

Hehehehe, are you also fearing that the old days of website development are coming back?

Sites with a completely red background, yellow and blue characters and 150 spinning, flickering and otherwise animated gif animations?!

Now just picture yourself there, but then in 2006 with all kinds of Windows Forms applications behaving exactly the same! :D

I wanted to skip the DeyDays this year because I prefer the Tech-Ed. But after reading Dennis his post about cancelling the tech-ed in amsterdam, I immediately mailed my manager that I also want to attend the DeyDays.
