LogicaCMG is not only participating the Yukon Ascend Program, but also the .NET 2.0 Ascend Program.
As part of the Ascend Program, participants are offered a Training.
Today is already the last day of the Microsoft Ascend Training program. There are 36 people participating the Course. Most of them are from the Netherlands, but also from Finland, Sweden and the UK.
Heard a lot of interesting presentations and 've done several hands on labs.
Infosupport was the host of the Training. Presentations where hold by Gert Jan Timmerman, Marcel de Vries, Raimond Brookman en Erno de Weerd.
The first day was a fundamentals training (System.Data, System.XML, etc) . Edward Bakker has posted a nice overview of the first day. The other 3 days were for a specific track.
There where 3 tracks we can choose of to follow.
- Smart Client
- Web Development
- Tools & Integration
At first i was signed in for Web Development. I was more interested in Tools & Integration and Alex Thissen had the opposite interests. So we swiched tracks (thanks again Alex)
After the TAP (Technnology Adaption Program) which tested the beta software, it's time for the Ascend team to test it. Till now worked 4 days with the December CTP and it's not as stable as i would like . I' ve used the October release for several time and it was more stable in my opinion. Anyway it's better to wait for the Beta 2 to really use the bits. Not only you shall work around the bugs now but also for the reason that Sql-Server 2005 and Visual Studio .NET 2005 will use the same .NET Framework Version. Till than you have to use 2 seperate boxes (or VPC's) to use both SQL-Server and VS.NET 2005.
The team system team has a nice blog post about the version control features in TS.

They have nice posts which is interesed anyway to keep an eye on, when your interested in TS.
