the DSL tools are indeed very cool. I'am experimenting with the toolkit for some time now. you might have read my posts on my blog were i write a little bit about the DSL I am currently building. be prepared, the current beta 2 toolkit has some issues :-). the next CTP of the DSL toolkit will be available very soon! Yes, we did call Rob names for being afraid of doing declarative coding in XML. But of course I far prefer to use a visual designer like Acryllic or Sparkle over hand coding XAML. But like HTML it doesn't hurt to be able to understand the underlying format and to be able to hand code some elementary stuff.

I sincerely hope that we don't have to write XAML. It might make you look cool and guru-like, but God, it makes me think if the 80's when I was writing DOS applications.

I used to fax my (batch)order to Starbucks including a pick-up time, never failed. Which reminds me, we have to implement something like that soon.

I guess I got lucky. Just after the power failure I went to a rest room. The electronic water tap worked. Must have been one connected to the emergency power supply.

When the black out started I was in the Internet Alley typing an e-mail. Everybody started clapping after the lights went out. It was fun seeing the emergency lights in w wavelike fashing from one side to the other in that big hall.

Rob, how did you upload your photos to BA.NET? And is there any way I can contact you here? Rene didn't leave me his or your mobile phone number. I mailed mine to Rene.

@Rob: I also remember having read an analogy between Starbucks and asynchronous messaging/message queuing. I googled this article http://www.eaipatterns.com/ramblings/18_starbucks.html. It has a very nice explanation of the system.

@Jan: Starbucks has made it to France already: http://www.starbucks.fr/. The Dutch domain is not in use by Starbucks yet ;( It has been registered but from the SIDN record it is not clear if Starbucks is behind the registration.
